$595 Zimmerman Inspired Top Made from Vintage Shirt

Y’all know how those targeted ads work on Facebook, right? Well, I saw this Zimmerman top pop up, and I thought it was super cute. I originally thought it was for kids, but when I saw that it was $595, I was like “whet?”.

Then, I was scrolling through Poshmark looking for Vintage tops and behold…I came across this one.

The colors of the stripes were so similar, I was in disbelief! Like…no way they can target me this accurately, right? Right?

It arrived and it was perfect! I washed it and began the laborious task of removing all of the seams and stitches. This shirt had so many damn darts. It was painful! The sleeves and buttons were also hard to remove. I ended up just throwing away the placards where the button holes were attached. Because of all of the darts, there really wasn’t a big enough piece that I could use and avoid the stitch holes.

I was left with 7 irregular shaped pieces that I didn’t take pics of because I didn’t feel like ironing them all. But, you can see what I was left with when I was done cutting out the pieces to sew. I only had enough to make a shirt for a newborn. Womp. I really wanted this for a 0-3 month old.

Here is the final look! It’s sooo adorable.
